Category: Parking Permit
I have a disabled person parking permit and/or wheelchair symbol on my license plate. Can my spouse use it to park in a disabled person parking space when I am not riding in the vehicle? This answer has been viewed 6531 times and was last updated on 02/05/2019.
No; parking permits and license plates with a wheelchair symbol are issued to the person designated on the registration and are not interchangeable between spouses or anyone else. (The disabled person's Florida driver license or ID card number is printed on the decal affixed to the parking permit to assist law enforcement.)
In order to park in a designated handicap parking place the person that qualified for the permit/plate must be in the vehicle.
