Driver License Cancellation

Before visiting our offices, we strongly encourage you to check the status of your license to ensure you have all the documents required to complete your transaction. We will not provide this information over the phone.

If any of the following scenarios apply, refer to any of the applicable customer information publications listed below for more information and instructions.

3 Crashes in 3 Years
If you were cited at-fault in three crashes within three years (36 months), your driver license will be cancelled until you complete an approved driver improvement course that includes behind-the-wheel training and an assessment of your driving ability.

Purchased License While Suspended or Revoked
If you purchase a Florida license when you were otherwise suspended or revoked in Florida or any other state (even if it unbeknownst to you), your Florida license will subsequently be cancelled when the out-of-state suspension or revocation is discovered.

Failure to Complete School
If you are required to complete a Basic Driver Improvement Course (BDI), a Traffic Collision Avoidance Course (TCAC), Advanced Driver Improvement School (ADI), or a Substance Abuse Education Course (DUI School) and you fail to complete the course within 90 days of receiving notice from the Division of Driver Licenses, your driving privilege will be cancelled until you successfully complete the required course(s).
