2009 Mobile Home Decals Expire Dec. 31st - Renew for 2 Years

All 2009 (blue) mobile home decals expire December 31st of this year. Florida mobile home residents may choose to renew for one or two years (expiration 2010 or 2011).  The new 2010 or 2011 decal must be displayed on mobile homes/manufactured homes that are on rental property by January 1st. Double and triple-wide mobile homes require multiple decals, one for each section of the home. These should not be confused with the permanent Real Property (RP) mobile home decals, which are centered on a large black square and are not renewed annually.

“To save time and gas, we are encouraging mobile home owners to renew by mail or online at www.taxcollector.com,” said Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr.    “If you choose to pay in person at one of our offices, please renew now and avoid the long lines due to holiday closings and heavy end of the year office traffic.”

Mobile home renewal notices were mailed in October. Owners who did not receive a renewal notice or need more information should visit www.taxcollector.com  or contact the Manatee County Tax Collector's Office at 941.741.4800. Even if a renewal notice is not received, the 2010 or 2011 decal is still required to be displayed by January 1st. Compliance inspections of mobile home parks will begin in early January.
To renew online at www.taxcollector.com using a 16-digit debit or credit card, a Florida Driver License or ID Card (with a Social Security number on file) is required. A handling fee is imposed on all online transactions.

As a result of the new $25,000 personal property tax exemption effective with the 2008 tax roll, mobile home owners who previously received a personal property tax bill for their attachment will not receive a tax bill and will not owe 2009 personal property taxes, if the value of the attachment is less than $25,000.
