"Valid in Florida Only" Driver Licenses No Longer Issued

November 1, 2009, the State of Florida discontinued issuance of Valid in Florida Only driver licenses.  Previously, non-resident drivers were permitted to keep their out-of-state or out-of-country license and obtain a Florida Only driver license.  The driver license and identification card requirements of the REAL ID Act have ended this practice.  I have a Valid in Florida Only license; what does this mean for me? Existing Florida Only licenses will not be cancelled; they will remain active until a renewal, address change, or other replacement is required. You then will have the option of surrendering your out-of-state driver license and obtaining a full Florida license, or surrendering your Florida Only license as it will no longer be valid.  For more information on the new driver license and identification requirements for all residents, visit www.GatherGoGet.com.
