Sara Brammer selected as Manatee County Tax Collector’s Most Valuable Employee of 2016 (Published 10-12-2016)
Sara Brammer was selected by her peers as the Manatee County Tax Collector's Most Valuable Employee for 2016. A 21-year veteran of the office, Sara works in Quality Assurance (QA) of the Customer Solutions and Associate Development (CSAD) department. Others nominated were Frankie James, Field Services & Collections; Kim Krise, CSAD; and Antonia Media, Financial Services."When you consider what our primary duty to the citizens of Manatee County is, the collection of property taxes, Sara is the catalyst for making this happen seamlessly every year," said Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr. "I appreciate her work ethic, her great attitude and the contributions she makes to the entire office. I am glad her peers recognize her role-model performance, too."
In preparation for the new tax season, Sara facilitates the annual pre-tax-season meeting with all departments; reviews annual, installment and delinquent bill samples; ensures correct data placement; has associates review samples, and then authorizes production of tax bill, envelope and insert information.
Sara oversees all E&I (errors and insolvency) property tax corrections, payment-in-error transactions, suspense/escrow payments, and mortgage payments, which requires thorough attention to detail and the proper knowledge to determine if there are any calculation errors after a correction has been made in PTAX (online property tax system). She works with Pacific Blue programmers and our IT department with testing issues, e-billing, a new email alert project, and represents CSAD in two PTAX user group meetings a year. She has participated in the pre-season and post-tax-season roundtables with the property appraiser's office for nine years.
In addition to her property tax expertise, Sara maintains familiarity of DMV and driver license transactions. Her cash handling proficiency was critical to the success of the office's conversion to the new cashiering program. She worked with the state and new First Manatee South County Tag Agency in opening their office earlier this year; she regularly meets with the private agency to address concerns and conducts quality control reviews on their work.
As the QA Team Leader, Sara makes good judgment calls in the absence of the manager, is respected by her peers for her knowledge and attention to detail, and is willing to assist colleagues whenever needed. Her planning and organization skills are vital to QA, and she prioritizes multiple tasks, cross-trains QA associates, stays current with policy changes, plus she always meets her deadlines.
Sara exemplifies our core values of excellence and accountability, teamwork, treats everyone with integrity and respect, is future and customer focused, and is totally innovative.
The MVE award carries with it a certificate, name engraved on the MVE trophy, name listed on the Most Valuable Employee page on the office web, a Java n Jive gift certificate, a special lanyard pin, a bonus unileave day, and names a themed casual day in her honor.
