Kay Horrell is the Manatee County Tax Collector Employee of the 3rd Quarter 2017 (Published 08-01-2017)
The Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the 3rd Quarter is Kay Horrell. An Associate III in the Customer Contact Center (CCC), Kay has been on the Customer Solutions and Associate Development (CSAD) staff since December 1998."Awarding Kay Employee of the Quarter is difficult, only because she is such a humble person with a true servant's heart; she's going to hate it," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "Kay truly displays 'excellence and accountability' every day. She is tireless in her work ethic, in her encouragement of teammates and in her desire to do the very best job possible."
"Kay has been part of CCC for about six years," said Coco Hanson, manager. "Kay helps us stay on track with our PowerDMS training and performs additional duties, such as checking our fax machine, keeping up with floaters' emails and voicemails, and assisting with a myriad of daily responsibilities. It's a true pleasure to have Kay on our team!!"
"Kay volunteers for a 45-minute lunch every Monday, since this is the department's busiest day," said Tony Conboy, CSAD director. "She has zero hours of unscheduled absences this fiscal year, which is exemplary. Her impeccable work ethic, taking pride in what she does, and her incomparable responsibility with any task she is assigned makes her one of our most valued team members."
"Kay never complains when it comes to work, and she embraces any error or mistake and uses them as learning tools for the team," said Alexdia Kosmas, CCC assistant manager. "Her stats are extraordinary: Her checklists-per-call ratio is 65% (45% required), her transferred-to-auto-attendance-box-per-call ratio is 64% (45% required), and probably the most astounding figure is that Kay has answered over 14,700 calls out of almost 51,000 calls in this fiscal year. When our team was asked to describe her with one or two words, they said, 'teamwork and accountability,' 'positive attitude and hard worker,' 'fabulous hard worker,' 'the beast, the machine,' and she truly embraces them!"
Kay demonstrates every one of our core values – customer focus, innovation, future focus, integrity and respect, teamwork, excellence and accountability, and community and social responsibility. Her name is engraved on the Employee of the Quarter Trophy; she receives a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a uni-leave day, gets to name a themed casual day, and receives a free pizza from Demetrio’s Pizza House, Cortez Road.
