Kathy Schroeder is the Manatee County Tax Collector Employee of the Quarter (Published 10-18-2017)
Bradenton - Kathy Schroeder is the Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter 2017. She was recognized in front of all her peers at the annual Columbus Day In-service Work Day October 9th. She has worked in the Customer Solutions and Associate Development (CSAD) Department for nearly 20 years, attaining the position of Assistant Manager."Attendance is an integral part of serving our customers with excellence," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "Kathy's dependability, especially as the assistant manager, leads by example at one of our branch offices. She only had 1-3/4 hours of unscheduled absences as compared to the office average of nearly 16 hours. Additionally, Kathy received 26 positive comment cards from customers who appreciate her expert customer service in an efficient, accurate and professional manner. While juggling her responsibilities as an assistant manager, Kathy still maintains an average transaction time of 8-1/2 minutes serving customers, which is lower than the office average of
10-1/2."
"On a personal note, when the Office began our process leadership initiative in 2006, our Senior Team participated in the Florida Sterling Council Conference for the first time. One of the keynote speakers said he had moved to Lakewood Ranch and visited our office to do all his vehicle registration and license changes of address. In his presentation he praised our office and me by name stating that not only did he make those transactions, his associate informed him he could go ahead and renew right then and save himself another trip. All of this was done in record time! When we got back, we looked at the data and who was the associate who gave him such excellent service? Kathy Schroeder. Thank you, Kathy, for making me look good that day - and every day you come to work."
"As an Assistant Manager, Kathy sets an example with her adherence to policies and procedures," said CSAD Director Tony Conboy. "Kathy's job performance was close to perfect. She did not receive any employee counseling records for transactional errors or cash handling during the past year and there were no errors identified when her work was audited during the monthly quality control process."
"You have to be agile in your responsibilities at our office," said CSAD Assistant Director Ronda French. "Kathy supervises her office location when the manager is out of the office, and because she is cross-trained to work in our Customer Contact Center, she can assist when the manager or assistant is out of that department."
Kathy demonstrates all of our core values - customer focus, innovation, future focus, integrity & respect, teamwork, excellence & accountability, and community & social responsibility. Her name is engraved on the Employee of the Quarter Trophy; she receives a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a uni-leave day, gets to name a themed casual day, and receives a free pizza from Demetrio's Pizza House, Cortez Road.
