Collection of 2017 Manatee County property taxes begins November 7 (Published 11-07-2017)
BRADENTON - The Manatee County Tax Collector will begin collection of 2017 property taxes on November 7, when 170,733 annual property tax bills and informational notices are scheduled to be mailed. The property appraiser valued the 2017 tax assessment roll at $45,840,546,929. The total 2017 taxes to be collected by the tax collector is $623,795,732.22.The 4% discount period has been extended to December 6 for annual tax payments that are received or postmarked by that date.
Taxes may be paid online at taxcollector.com. If you do not receive your tax bill by November 15, simply access taxcollector.com to print a duplicate bill, pay current and delinquent taxes, and print receipts for 1998 through 2017 tax years.
Informational notices are sent to taxpayers whose tax bill was requested by their mortgage company or escrow agent. A tax bill will not be mailed, and no tax is due, if the gross tax is less than $15.
5,019 Third Quarter Installment bills will be mailed November 30. To pay next year’s taxes in quarterly installments, apply at taxcollector.com by April 30, 2018.
Unpaid 2017 taxes will become delinquent April 1, 2018.
The tax collector serves as the collection agent for all taxing authorities and distributes the funds. The Board of County Commissioners, school board, city councils/commissions, and taxing authorities set the tax millage rates. The property appraiser establishes the taxable value and exemptions of the property.
