2018 mobile home decals expire December 31 (Published 11-21-2018)
All orange 2018 rental property mobile home decals will expire December 31. Registrations may be renewed for one or two years, and the new green decal (expiration 2019) or red decal (expiration 2020) must be displayed by January 1, 2019. Double- and triple-wide mobile homes require multiple decals; one for each section of the home. The color decals should not be confused with the permanent Real Property (RP) mobile home decals, which are black and not renewed annually."Renew online or by mail to avoid long lines due to holiday closings and heavy end of the year traffic," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "To renew online at taxcollector.com, you’ll need a debit or credit card along with an old registration, Florida driver license or ID card. You should receive the new registration and decal within seven business days."
This year, mobile home renewal notices were mailed in mid-November. Due to programming issues with the State DMV in Tallahassee (not the tax collector’s office), the mailings were delayed.
Even if the renewal notice is not received, the new decal is still required to be displayed by January 1. Notices of Impending Court Summons for delinquent mobile home compliance are sent out in February and periodic park inspections are conducted by the Field Services and Collections Department.
