The Manatee County Tax Collector now offers the convenience of a self-service kiosk for customers to use when renewing motor vehicle registrations and obtaining a new decal. The kiosks are installed at the DeSoto Office, 819 301 Blvd. W., Bradenton, and the Lakewood Ranch Office, 6007 111th St. E., Lakewood Ranch. There is no additional cost to use the kiosk, and cash, debit and credit cards are acceptable (credit cards cannot be used when processed by employees in the office). A Spanish language option is also available.
"We are always searching for ways to improve and innovations like this help us provide faster service and plan for future growth in Manatee County," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "Currently we are mailing 3% more registration renewals monthly than we did at the same time last year. With thousands more homes being built here, that number is only going to increase. Our offices have incredibly low customer lobby wait times (an average of six minutes in the 2018 to 2019 fiscal year), and we believe kiosks will help us keep them low. We encourage customers to renew online at taxcollector.com for the fastest service, but some do not have bank accounts or credit cards, which forces them to come in to an office. Plus, some just wait until the last minute to renew, so they, too, come in to an office."
To best serve Manatee County, five offices are strategically located in Northwest Bradenton, Central Bradenton (two), North River, Lakewood Ranch and the First Manatee Tag Agency with extended and Saturday hours in the South County area. Appointments are offered for all driver license and title-work transactions. Plus, most business can be performed at taxcollector.com.
The Manatee County Tax Collector is only the third county in the state to offer the kiosk service, and plans to add kiosks at other locations are being developed.
The mission of the Manatee County Tax Collector's Office is to perform our duties with integrity and respect, focusing on innovation and serving with excellence.
