Manatee County Tax Collector launches registration renewal kiosks in local Publix stores (Published 06-16-2020)
The Manatee County Tax Collector is partnering with local Publix stores to offer the convenience of a self-service kiosk for customers to use when renewing motor vehicle registrations. The kiosks are strategically installed throughout the county at three Publix locations: Beachway Plaza, 7310 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton; Lockwood Commons, 4240 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton; and Parkwood Square, 9005 US 301 N., Parrish. Motor vehicle registrations can be renewed on a kiosk when there are no stops or holds on the registration, debit and credit cards are accepted for payment, and customers receive their registration and decal immediately. A Spanish language option is available, also.
"This is a huge innovation for Tax Collector customers," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "Our partnership with Publix opens up the ability for them to quickly and easily complete their vehicle registration renewals when they get their groceries, even on weekends and most holidays."
Online renewals at taxcollector.com are always available; however, the kiosks are the only self-service option that provides an immediate result, allowing customers to print the registration and decal as soon as the transaction is completed.
Kiosks are already installed at the three busiest tax collector offices: DeSoto, Lakewood Ranch and North River. Since January 2020, over 4,100 registration renewals have been processed on the lobby kiosks, accounting for more than 8.5% of all in-person renewal transactions. With the launch of the kiosks in Publix stores, that percentage is expected to grow; the kiosks have already issued more than 100 renewals since the end of May.
Many transactions can be performed and appointments can be scheduled at taxcollector.com. Appointments are recommended for all transactions, and service protocols are listed on the website.
The mission of the Manatee County Tax Collector's Office is to perform our duties with integrity and respect, focusing on innovation and serving with excellence.
