Motor Vehicle Services – Get your questions answered here!

Here at the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Office, we want to provide you with all the information you need to help you get the most done with the least inconvenience possible.  You can browse through our motor vehicle services links on the left, or continue on this page to hear about some of our more common transactions.

Title Services

Bought a car or truck in a private sale?

  • Bought a car from someone?  Just got a truck?  In Florida, you have 30 days to transfer the title into your name or you may be subject to late fees and other penalties.  Our Sales Tax, Florida Title Info, and Fees pages should help you out.

Moving to Florida?

  • If you’re moving from another state and have motor vehicles that you want to put Florida plates on, first you’ll have to get the title(s) transferred and issued here.  We’ll also need to see insurance and possibly other documents, visit our Out of State Title Info page for more detail.

Lost your title?

  • If you’ve lost or misplaced your title, we can issue you a duplicate in any of our offices.  Just make sure you have a current odometer reading for the vehicle!

Are you a dealer?

  • Car dealers are subject to different regulations and requirements from the general population.  Visit our Dealer Department page for more information on services offered and Florida regulations.

  • Update your address
  • Driver License services (See our Driver License page for more information)
