Sanction Notification

According to the State of Florida’s Driver License system, your driver license record is, or will be, suspended. At this office, we do not have any information regarding the specific issue. This issue impacts your driver license and may impact your ability to renew the registrations of any vehicle(s) registered in your name in Florida. Follow the steps below to clear and/or reinstate your Florida driver license record.

Step 1: Learn the Details of Your Sanction(s)

You have the following options to check the status of your Florida driver license record:

Internet – Visit the FLHSMV Driver License Check at mydmvportal.flhsmv.gov/home/en/publicweb/dlcheck/ to learn the status of your license and what issues may exist (type of sanction, unpaid tickets, driving school issue, traffic crash, points, etc.). There is no charge for this inquiry and it is available 24/7, or
Email – Visit FLHSMV’s website to submit an email request for the needed information https://flhsmv.service-now.com/csp?id=flhsmv_csp_dl_index or
Phone – Call the DHSMV in Tallahassee at (850) 617-3000 or (850) 617-2000 to learn more. (Note: These are State phone numbers – Not the Manatee County Tax Collector), or
Visit – appointments are required – schedule an appointment at taxcollector.com for our Driver License Office located at 904 301 Blvd. W in Bradenton to check the status of your driver license and any items needed to rectify the issue(s). This inquiry can only be done at the Driver License Office for a cost of $6.25. An Online Application is REQUIRED for all transactions! You must complete the Online Driver License & ID Card Application (https://taxcollector.jotform.com/210103795736152) – or scan the QR code to access the application – prior to your appointment. Do not print the application; an associate will access your electronic submission during your appointment. Applications are valid for 90 days.

Step 2: Take Steps to Rectify Your Sanction(s)

You must rectify all issues identified in Step 1. This may include, but is not limited to, remitting payment for any outstanding fines/tickets, obtaining insurance, etc. Visit our Customer Help Center (https://helpcenter.taxcollector.com/hc/en-us/sections/27676564868877) for detailed instructions on clearing these issues.

Note: The Manatee County Tax Collector’s Office does not collect fines for other departments (the Clerk of Courts, Department of Revenue, etc.). However, additional reinstatement fees may still be due.

Step 3: Remit Payment to Reinstate Your License

THIS STEP IS REQUIRED! After you have cleared the issue(s) (paid all outstanding fines/tickets, obtained proof of insurance, etc.), you must still REINSTATE your license using one of the following options:

Internet – In many cases – but not all – you may be able to clear your license online – or scan the QR code on the right to access the website. If allowed, this site will provide you with information on how to clear online or by mail with the DHSMV in Tallahassee. For example, many types of insurance suspensions can be corrected by submitting documents online or by mail to Tallahassee.
Phone – Certain sanctions can be cleared by calling the DHSMV in Tallahassee at (850) 617-3000 or (850) 617-2000. (Note: These are State phone numbers – Not the Manatee County Tax Collector.)
Visit – appointments are required – schedule an appointment at taxcollector.com. This transaction can only be done at the Driver License Office located at 904 301 Blvd. W in Bradenton. Acceptable Methods of Payment and Estimated Fees

Reinstatement fees vary depending on the type of sanction(s). Refer to our Customer Help Center (linked in Step 2) for an estimate of fees.

Online: Payments may be made online with a credit card. A $2.00 convenience fee applies to all online transactions. This fee is charged per order, not per transaction.

By Phone: Payments may be made over the phone with a credit card.

In Office: The Driver License Office accepts cash, check, debit cards, and credit cards. A $2.50 processing fee for debit cards and a 2.5% processing fee (minimum of $2.50) for credit cards will apply. Our office does not retain any portion of this fee. Customers will be charged a $6.25 Tax Collector service fee for information and processing.
