What is required to process my title transaction by mail, and how can I find out the status of my title by mail work?
This answer has been viewed 3705 times and was last updated on 04/01/2022.
Visit our title by mail page to see if you qualify for this service. If you qualify, you'll use our step-by-step wizard for completing your title by mail. The wizard includes documentation requirements and an estimate of fees. Failure to use the online wizard may delay or stop the processing of your transaction, resulting in all documents being returned to you.
When processing a "title by mail" transaction, the turnaround time is 6 business days from receipt of the mail packet. After 6 business days, plus transit and delivery time of five to ten days, you may use the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' vehicle information check service to verify the title status. Our office will not provide status updates if you call or visit one of our offices. However, if you provide your e-mail address within the mail packet, you will recieve status updates when your packet is received and when it has been processed or returned.
If you initiate your title work by mail, you must complete the transaction by mail – we will not notify you to come in person to process a title that was mailed to our office. In order to process the title work in person, you must bring the paperwork in to one of our offices and sit with a counter associate.
For more information regarding processing title transactions by mail, read our Title by Mail publication.
