Are there any discounts for timely remittance and payment?

Yes. If you remit electronically and on a timely basis, you can take a collection allowance of 2.5% of the tax collected. The maximum collection allowance is $30.00 per month.
Example:
Amount | Description |
---|---|
$1,000.00 | Rent |
$50.00 | Tourist tax |
$1.25 | Collection allowance (2.5% of $50.00 tourist tax) |
$48.75 | Total due (tax amount of $50.00 less collection allowance of $1.25) |
If you remit paper coupons and/or pay by check, you cannot take the collection allowance.
