Teresa Farrell is the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Employee of the Quarter (Published 07-13-2023)

Bradenton - The Manatee County Tax Collector’s office is pleased to announce Teresa Farrell has been recognized as the recipient of the Employee of the Quarter award for the 2nd quarter of 2023 at the Manatee County Tax Collector’s office. Since joining the Field Services & Collections (FS&C) team in July of 2021, Teresa's outstanding performance and unwavering dedication have made a significant impact on the FS&C Department.
Throughout the past quarter, Teresa consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to excellence and consistently went above and beyond in her role. One particularly notable achievement was her proactive initiative to review the current driver's license statistics. This project involved assessing the value of existing data and automating the generation of new reports in our queuing system. With meticulous attention to detail and unwavering persistence, Teresa ensured the accuracy of our statistics and streamlined the entire process. Her ability to embrace change and actively seek out improvements exemplifies our core values of Excellence & Accountability and Future Focus.
In addition to these remarkable contributions, Teresa has become an invaluable team member by actively participating in other projects. She took the lead in learning the new appointment system and collaborated with vendors to reestablish the DeSoto maneuver area. FS&C Director Michele Schulz added, “Her efforts to enhance efficiency and optimize processes truly reflect her deep commitment to our organization's values, and is a perfect example of why she is vital to our team.”
Teresa’s parents, Butch and Page, along with her son DJ, joined the office’s livestream presentation of her award.
During the presentation, Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr. said, “Teresa shared with me years ago when she joined our team that her father would cook a hot meal and eat with her every morning. That tradition still continues to this day; now with her son DJ included. This is a great reminder of the importance of role models in our lives and the power of simple moments shared over a meal. And it's a testament to our winner’s dedication and commitment.”
Teresa represents the Office's core values of customer focus, innovation, future focus, integrity and respect, teamwork, excellence and accountability, and community and social responsibility. She receives an Employee of the Quarter trophy, a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a themed casual day, and a bonus vacation day.
