When I purchase a tax certificate, do I own the property?
This answer has been viewed 2906 times and was last updated on 06/01/2020.
No, you do not own the property. A tax certificate is a perfected first lien against the property, and the ownership of the property does not change. In addition, purchasing a tax certificate does not permit you to enter the property or intimidate the property owner.
